Guidelines

Eligibility for Membership

Any person, association, corporation, partnership, institution of higher education, and associated student-run clubs having an interest in the objectives of the organization shall be eligible for membership.  The organization shall have four (4) classes of membership: Corporate/Business, Professional Individual, Academic Community (Club), and Student. The Board may by resolution add new classes and categories of membership upon recommendation by the Executive Committee and, in such event, shall establish applicable requirements for membership in each additional class or category.

  1. Corporate/Business Members. Corporate/Business Members are classified as being a registered public or private organization or other business entity engaged in the development, launch, investment, management, consulting, services and/or other aspects of cryptocurrency, Security Token Offerings (STOs), and/or the crypto-economy. Corporate/Business Members shall vote, pay dues, and are eligible to have (be) a representative(s) on the Board. Corporate/Business Members may assign up to five (5) individual representatives who are employees of the corporation as designated representatives (registrants), each of whom is allocated one (1) vote at all membership meetings (annual, general and special), in all elections (Board) and in all circumstances where a Member may cast a ballot. Corporate/Business Members are committed to the active participation of at least one (1) formal representative in the activities conducted by TESA to achieve its goals, including participation in at least one (1) Working Committee.
  2. Individual Professional Members. Individual Professional Members are classified as being individuals, including subject matter experts, engaged in the development, launch, investment, management, consulting, services and/or other aspects of cryptocurrency, STOs, and/or the crypto-economy.  Professional Individual Members shall vote, pay dues, and are eligible to have (be) a representative(s) on the Board.  Individual Professional Members are committed to active participation in the activities conducted by TESA to achieve its goals, including participation in at least one (1) Working Committee. Individual Professional Members are allocated one (1) vote at all membership meetings (annual, general and special), in all elections (Board) and in all circumstances where a Member may cast a ballot.
  3. Academic Community (Club) Members. Academic Community (Club) Members are classified as being a not-for-profit, academic institution-based, student association focused on cryptocurrency, STOs, and/or the crypto-economy, consisting of students and/or faculty members from recognized colleges and universities. Academic Community Members shall vote and pay dues, but are not eligible to have representatives on the Board. Academic Community (Club) Members may assign up to three (3) individual representatives (registrants) who are current members of the not-for-profit, academic institution-based, student association, as designated representatives (registrants), each of whom is allocated one (1) vote at all membership meetings (annual, general and special), in all elections (Board) and in all circumstances where a Member may cast a ballot. A maximum of one (1) faculty member may be assigned as a formal representative at a time. Academic Community (Club) Members are committed to the active participation of at least one (1) formal representative in the activities conducted by TESA to achieve its goals, including membership meetings (annual, general and special). Applicants to the Academic Community (Club) Member category must submit proof of current club-status at a recognized academic institution prior to the membership application being accepted.
  4. Student Members. Student Members are classified as being individual students from recognized colleges and universities, who are interested and/or engaged in the development, launch, investment, management, consulting, services and/or other aspects of cryptocurrency, STOs, and/or the crypto-economy. Student Members shall vote and pay dues, but are not eligible to have representatives on the Board. Student Members are committed to the active participation of at least one (1) formal representative in the activities conducted by TESA to achieve its goals, including membership meetings (annual, general and special). Applicants to the Student Member category must submit proof of current enrollment status at a recognized academic institution prior to the membership application being accepted.

 

Membership Election: 

Applications for membership shall be made using the forms provided for that purpose by TESA and must be signed by the applicant. Election of members shall be made by the Board, and any elected applicants shall become a member upon payment of the appropriate annual membership fee.

Membership Categories, Conditions & Fees 

  • Annual Corporate/Business membership: $ 6,000 USD*
    • Up to five (5) designated representatives per Corporate Member;
    • One (1) corporate membership comes with five (5) equivalent member voting rights;
  • Annual Individual Professional membership: $1,800 USD*
    • One (1) individual professional membership comes with one (1) equivalent member voting right;
  • Annual Academic Community membership: $3,000 USD*
    • Up to three (3) designated representatives, only one (1) of which may be faculty, per Academic Community Member;
    • One (1) university (club) membership comes with three (3) equivalent member voting rights;
    • Academic Community Members are not eligible to have representatives on the Board.
  • Annual Student membership: $120 USD*
    • One (1) student membership comes with one (1) equivalent member voting right.
    • Student Members are not eligible to have representatives on the Board.

*Accepted forms of payment include Bitcoin (BTC), Ethereum (ETH), and check, in the amount equivalent to USD at the time of the payment transaction. Checks must be made out to “Token Equity Standards Association”; Membership will be confirmed upon successful completion of the transaction.
